We've said before how poor of a port Dark Souls was for PC, but there's now an excellent tool available to rebind any key, which, when combined with this excellent mouse control mod, actually helps make the game playable on keyboard and mouse.

Modders have really saved the day with Dark Souls, without it the game was essentially only playable on a controller, not the first choice for PC gamers. It's an amazing game, don't get us wrong; it's just the frustratingly sloppy work that went into the PC port that aggravates gamers.

Input Customizer uses an intuitive interface to allow the player to re-assign every action to any number of arbitrary combinations of keyboard keys, mouse buttons or even controller buttons. This isn't the first mod to offer similar functionality, a recent update to the mouse enhancement tool introduced some key rebinding functionality, but what it does provide is once neat, central interface to take care of all your mapping needs.

The mod includes support for Xbox and Steam controllers, includes a full GUI, and even allows you to adjust the sensitivity of things like camera movements and aiming your bow.

The tool is very easy to use and can be downloaded now from Nexus Mods.

Those that are averse to mods, may be interested in looking at Steam's Big Picture Mode and its controller configurations. It allows you to rebind nearly every button to a host of Steam functions and standardised controller functions.

It also allows you to set controller specific options, such as the lightbar on the DualShock 4.
